These Terms of Service govern your use of the BabysitterChicago platform. Please read them carefully before registering or using any part of our service.

Acceptance of Terms

  • By creating an account or using BabysitterChicago, you agree to these Terms of Service.
  • If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
  • We may update these terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • Sitters must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Parents must have a legitimate need for childcare services.
  • You may not create more than one account per person.

Sitter Responsibilities

  • All information provided in your profile must be accurate, honest, and up to date.
  • Sitters are responsible for representing their experience and qualifications honestly.
  • Sitters are independent contractors, not employees of BabysitterChicago.
  • Sitters are responsible for their own taxes and compliance with applicable labor laws.
  • Sitters must arrive on time and fulfill all confirmed bookings.

Parent Responsibilities

  • Parents must provide accurate information about their childcare needs.
  • Parents must treat sitters with respect and provide a safe working environment.
  • Parents must not request services outside the scope of what was booked.

Prohibited Conduct

  • Harassment, abuse, or threatening behavior toward any platform user.
  • Posting false, misleading, or fraudulent reviews.
  • Attempting to bypass the platform to avoid accountability (e.g., sharing personal contact info before a confirmed booking).
  • Using the platform for any unlawful purpose.
  • Scraping, crawling, or automated data collection from the platform.

Bookings & Cancellations

  • Bookings are confirmed only when both parent and sitter have accepted.
  • Cancellation policies are set by individual sitters and displayed on their profiles.
  • BabysitterChicago is not a party to the booking agreement between parents and sitters.
  • We reserve the right to cancel bookings if either party violates these terms.

Reviews

  • Reviews may only be submitted by parents with a confirmed, completed booking.
  • Reviews must be honest, accurate, and based on personal experience.
  • We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate our guidelines.
  • Sitters may not offer incentives for positive reviews.

Limitation of Liability

  • BabysitterChicago is a marketplace platform and does not employ sitters.
  • We are not liable for the conduct of any user, including sitters or parents.
  • Our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
  • We make no guarantees about the availability, accuracy, or reliability of the platform.

Termination

  • We may suspend or terminate any account for violation of these terms.
  • You may delete your account at any time from your account settings.
  • Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately.
